At various stages of your lawn's life, it requires different nutrients to maintain its health and vigor. Canturf's understanding of this has led us to develop two specialized fertilizers: Lawn Starter, designed for newly seeded areas up to 12 weeks old, and Grow Green, which is ideal for instant turf installations or mature lawns.
Both Canturf Lawn Starter and Canturf Grow Green are crafted from the highest-quality ingredients and are based on organic materials. We utilize sulfate of potash in our blends instead of the more commonly used muriate of potash. While this ingredient may be more costly, it effectively reduces salinity buildup in the soil, enhances performance, and is more environmentally friendly.
Regular applications of Canturf Grow Green is vital for a healthy lawn to promote lush color and root development. Canturf Grow Green enhances your lawn's ability to defend against weeds, grubs, and fungal infections, thanks to its balanced formula of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and essential trace elements. For optimal results, apply 35 grams per square meter three times during each growing season.

Canturf's Lawn Starter fertiliser is crucial for seed germination and turf establishment. Canturf Lawn Starter boosts soil microbial activity, enhancing root growth and nutrient utilization. It also supplies essential trace elements and high phosphorus levels for rapid establishment.

Canturf Carp and Kelp Help is an organic foliar fertiliser spray in a convenient 2 Litre bottle that connects to your garden hose, delivering nutrients directly to your lawn and garden. This improved recipe combines traditional fish emulsion with nutrient-rich kelp and natural plant stimulants, making it ideal for your Canturf lawn and other plants. The blend of Carp and Kelp at a 3:1 ratio includes essential micro-nutrients, amino acids, growth hormones, bio stimulants, and more for maximum results. We highly recommend this product, which we also use at our Fyshwick farm.
Our seed range has been developed for the harsh climate of Canberra and the Southern Highlands. With temperatures ranging from negative 10 to 40 degrees, blends of grass species are used to create mixes that will look beautiful all year round. For best results we recommend you always sow Canturf Lawn Seed in conjunction with our Lawn Starter premium fertiliser.
Grass Type: 75% Tall Fine Fescue, 25% Kentucky Bluegrass
Hardy Green offers a durable, luscious lawn ideal for aesthetic areas in Canberra and it's surrounds. Similar to Rough & Tumble but without O'Connor's Strawberry Clover, it features Kentucky Bluegrass for vibrant color and Fescue for hardiness. This mix matches our Canberra Blend turf.
Grass Type: 71% Tall Fine Fescue, 24% Kentucky Bluegrass, 5% O'Connor's Strawberry Clover.
The Rough & Tumble mix is popular in Canberra and surrounding areas. The O'Connor's Strawberry Clover makes it more durable, helps repel scarab grubs and enriches the soil with nitrogen meaning a greener lawn. This seed matches our Canberra Blend with clover turf.
Grass Type: 80% Fine Rye-Grass, 20% Kentucky Bluegrass
Prestige Green is a fine-textured lawn that may require a higher level of maintenance than Rough and Tumble or Hardy Green. Ideal for prestigious front lawns with regular watering and fertilizing, it’s used in many golf courses such as Royal Canberra and Moss Vale. This blend matches our Penturf turf.
Grass Type: 80% Kentucky Bluegrass, 20% Chewings fescue
Designed for those hard to grow areas, Sunshade Canberra Mix produces an older style fine lawn and is recommended for the shadier parts of the garden or for oversowing an existing lawn struggling under trees.
Grass Type: 80% Tall Fescue, 20% Perennial Ryegrass, 16% Fine Fescue, 8% White Clover
A mix designed for non irrigated areas with little to no maintenance. It will not create a turf like finish but is perfect for green coverage.
Aside from our standard seed range Canturf is also able to source and supply most grass and green manure crop seed through our sister company Cleanseeds.
